Optimalisasi Pemahaman Kesehatan Reproduksi Remaja sebagai Upaya Meningkatkan Kesadaran terhadap Pubertas dan Pencegahan Kekerasan Seksual

Reproductive health is an important aspect of adolescent development, particularly during puberty, which involves various physical, emotional, and social changes. The partner in this community service activity was students of SMP Negeri 5 Samarinda, particularly those from classes IX-A and IX-C. The main problem identified was the need to improve students’ understanding of physical changes during puberty, personal hygiene, healthy lifestyle, reproductive health, and self-protection from unsafe touch. Limited understanding of these issues may lead to misconceptions and increase the risk of inappropriate behaviors related to reproductive health. This activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge and awareness of reproductive health as a preventive effort for adolescents. The activity was conducted directly on August 19, 2026, and involved 57 students. A participatory educational approach was applied through material presentation, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. The materials covered reproductive health, puberty, personal hygiene, healthy lifestyle, and ways to recognize and avoid unsafe touch. Changes in students’ understanding were evaluated using pre-test and post-test scores. The evaluation results showed an increase in the students’ average score from 68.77 before the activity to 90.35 after the activity, representing an increase of 21.58 points. The minimum score increased from 60 to 80, while the maximum score increased from 90 to 100. These results indicate that the educational activity contributed positively to improving students’ understanding of reproductive health. This activity can serve as a relevant preventive educational effort for adolescents and is expected to be implemented consistently and sustainably with support from the school, enabling students to apply their reproductive health knowledge appropriately and responsibly in their daily lives.
