Pelatihan Partisipatif dan Pendampingan Ide Penelitian untuk Penguatan Riset Penulisan KTI Siswa SMA

Research and scientific writing skills are important components of scientific literacy in secondary education because they require students to identify problems, select relevant information, construct arguments, and communicate ideas systematically. This community service activity was designed as a participatory training program combining short lectures, discussion, research-idea exercises, and mentoring. The activity was conducted on 28 August 2026 in Multimedia Room 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Samarinda and involved 57 students: 20 tenth-grade, 27 eleventh-grade, and 10 twelfth-grade students. Evaluation used 12 five-point Likert-type statements administered before and after the training. Four indicators were examined: formulating scientific-paper titles, understanding research approaches, citation and paraphrasing ethics, and understanding the research process in scientific-paper preparation. Descriptively, the mean scores expressed as percentage attainment increased from 83.1% at pretest to 94.7% at posttest, a difference of 11.6 percentage points. The largest increase occurred in title formulation, from 65.0% to 93.9%. The practice and consultation sessions provided opportunities for students to develop topics, narrow research foci, and formulate research questions and objectives. However, the evaluation instrument had not been formally reported as having undergone validity and reliability testing; therefore, the quantitative results are interpreted as descriptive score changes rather than causal evidence of intervention effectiveness. The findings support the need for continued KIR development through staged practice in proposal and scientific-paper writing.
