The rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, particularly generative artificial intelligence, has significantly influenced learning activities among students. This technology enables users to automatically generate various forms of information and content, which can support learning processes. However, the ease of access to such technology also introduces new challenges related to digital literacy and ethical awareness in the use of technology within academic environments. Therefore, educational initiatives are needed to equip students with appropriate knowledge and responsible attitudes in utilizing generative artificial intelligence. This community service activity aims to improve digital literacy and promote ethical awareness regarding the use of generative artificial intelligence among students. The partner of this activity is SMAN 2 Denpasar, a senior high school located in Denpasar City, where students have relatively high access to digital technologies. The implementation method used an educational and participatory approach consisting of preparation, training sessions, practical exercises on the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence, and evaluation activities. The evaluation was conducted through pre-test and post-test assessments, observation of participant engagement, and feedback questionnaires to measure students’ understanding before and after the activity. The results indicate an increase in students’ understanding of generative artificial intelligence concepts, improvement in digital literacy skills, and greater awareness of ethical technology use in academic contexts. In addition, the activity encouraged students to adopt a more critical and responsible attitude in using digital technology as a learning support tool. This community service program is expected to serve as a model for promoting digital literacy and ethical technology education in schools facing the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
