Penguatan Kesadaran Privasi Melalui Penyusunan Materi Keamanan Data Pribadi Bagi Masyarakat

Community service activities in Sei Sembilang were carried out to raise public awareness about the importance of protecting personal data in the digital era. The community’s digital literacy in this coastal area is still low. They don’t understand the dangers of sharing personal data with unclear parties, especially in the context of online loans and false data collection. Difficult economic conditions make some residents easily tempted by promises of aid or quick loans, which can actually lead to data leaks and misuse. The team that consisted of lecturers and students from Sriwijaya University provided interactive training using simple and easily understandable language. Participants were encouraged to recognize forms of digital fraud, understand how to protect personal data, and learn to be cautious when accessing links or providing information online. This community service also emphasizes the role of the family, especially parents, as digital protectors for their children to use technology more wisely. The community is encouraged to cultivate cautious habits and remind each other to safeguard privacy. Through this activity, the people of Sei Sembilang are expected to become more alert, smart, and responsible in using personal data, thereby creating a safe, healthy digital environment that supports family social resilience. Preliminary results show an increase in participants' understanding of the risks of personal data leakage, as well as the growth of collective awareness to remind each other to protect privacy. This training is expected to be a first step in building a safer, healthier digital environment that supports family social resilience in coastal communities.Downloads
