Conventional text-based or verbal teaching is not always effective for deaf students who need more visual learning media. Visual-based e-modules are one solution to support learning for deaf students. This is because deaf students tend to use their sense of sight to obtain information. These visual-based e-modules combine visual elements such as images, animations, and videos that are specifically designed to be easily understood by students with hearing impairments. However, many special school teachers in Pamekasan do not yet have sufficient knowledge and skills to design their own visual-based e-modules that suit the character and conditions of deaf students. Currently, teachers only use printed books like regular students. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out a mentoring program that aims to improve teacher competence in creating and utilizing visual-based e-modules effectively. This service aims to provide solutions to partners by providing assistance in creating visual-based e-modules so as to improve teacher competence in creating and utilizing visual-based e-modules as effective learning media for deaf students. The implementation of this community service begins with the preparation and identification of needs stage, mentoring in the creation and development of visual-based e-modules, testing and implementation of visual-based e-modules for deaf students in class, evaluation and refinement. The results of this community service activity have a positive impact on improving the innovative competence of SLB teachers in Pamekasan Regency. From the results of the questionnaire, 100% of participants stated that they were able to create visual-based e-modules independently; benefited and were helped by the use of visual-based e-modules in classroom learning; and were interested in implementing the use of visual-based e-modules in class.Downloads
